Our VINEYARDS
still require a lot of manual labour like pruning
in winter, binding the vine-shoots in spring, and naturally
the grape-picking with a dozen people in autumn.
We spray the vines against diseases only
when it is really necessary, and we choose pesticides which
respect the botanical and animal diversity of nature. In our
vineyards, you can observe some bees, coccinellas,
typhlodromus, etc.
Up to the early spring and during all the
summer, the soil is covered with very small flowers and all
kinds of small plants. Michel mows the vegetation in summer.
We are members of the “TYFLO” organisation,
practising integrated viticulture. Tyflo is agreed by IOBC:
International Organisation for Biological and Integrated Control of
noxious.
All our work is guided by the idea of respect
of the environment.
The green cover between the vines protects
the soil of the hills against erosion and increases
biodiversity.enherbons.
We also maintain the natural hedges which
border our wineyards: wild roses, eldertrees, chestnuttrees,
sloebushes, brambles shelter a high fauna diversity.
The vines grow naturally,
without chemical fertilization.
For your pleasure, we like to
keep very old vineyards rooted in the granite soil. They give
smaller, but so fruity grapes !
