2008 grape-picking at Beck-Hartweg's

After two weeks of dry and sunny weather which helped the grapes to mature, we started to pick on monday, September 29th, 2008.

The Pinot Noir grapes were dark-colored and had a good fruity taste. We picked them at first. Now they have finished their fermentation. Yesterday Michel and Florian pressed the red Pinot Noir. In the whole cellar you could smell the fruit-aromas. Now it is finishig its fermentation.

Than we picked the Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois and Sylvaner.During this time, the Grands Crus and special Cuvées continue to mature. We start picking them October, 10 th and the next week. We picked the Riesling Grand Cru Frankstein at the end of October, and also a late harvest of Gewurztraminer .

Please, see more about the 2008 grape-picking and the actualities of winter, spring  ans summer 2008 on our vinegrower's blog , updated October 9th, 2008
